well the reason it wants to expand is for one reason, more $$$. the challenges i would see is that the countries that do not like the USA would be turned off by a giant american corporation wanting to put its products in their countries.
I would agree with the previous answer, but lets look at the purpose of business. The purpose of business is to serve their customers in such a way the customers’ needs are met and the business can grow and expand, thus staying in business. Therefore to do that the business must excell at what they are doing.
Wal Mart has proven that its business model is great, their distribution costs are the lowest in the Nation. Therefore they have satisfied their customers by provide quality goods at very competitive prices and have made hugh profits. With Globalization comes the opportunity to make more profits for there stock holders and satisfy more customers.
But there is the rub. With Globalization, the large mega-corporation must change or modify their business model because of cultural or regulatory issues. Wal Mart has had to modify in India, Germany and other places that it has expanded. Wal Mart has struggled overseas, but they have also had their success.
Since Wal Mart is on top of the hill it is easy to shoot at them with many charges. I am not saying they are good or bad, but Wal Mart receives criticism when other “big box stores” fly under the radar screen. Target, KMart/Sears and Best Buy, to name just a few, are equally guilty and also have provided American Citizens with great benefits. One of the beauties of the Free Market system is that if you like how someone serves you, you are free to give them business, but if not you can simply go somewhere else.
wal-mart and all companies that produce all there products over seas think that if they produce these item as cheap as possible few will get rich and many will be poor the problem is that when nobody has jobs becuse of this outsourcing then nobody can afford anything. I hope wal-mart goes away. BE AMERICAN BUY AMERICAN
