The 550 pound star which is on top of the Rockefeller Christmas tree in New York is a Swarovski Crystal. It is nine feet in diameter, and, due to cutting innovations in 2004, it sparkles more brightly than prior crystals. The original logo Swarovski employed was an edelweiss, but nineteen years ago it was replaced by a swan. The chandelier in the 2004 film “The Phantom Of The Opera” was also made of Swarovski crystals, and also visible in the film was a shop of the crystals.
